January 31, 2006--NEW Xi-100 Application Note: Carbon Black Dispersion Index Measurement in Rubber SANTA CRUZ, CA - Working with Columbian Chemicals researcher in Atlanta, GA, Ambios applications engineer Will Ruddick has published a new Application Note which describes how the Ambios Xi-100 Non-contact Optical Profiler provides an automated and unambiguous measurement of the Carbon Black Dispersion Index in Rubber compounds. Many of the critical physical properties of any rubber compound

mixture are affected by this Dispersion Index, including tensile
strength, tear strength, fatigue and abrasion resisitance.

This new measurement capability was highlighted in the January
2006 issue of the industry publication Rubber World.
